Terms of Service
Terms & Disclaimers
At RBD Time Solutions LLC, we believe that exceptional service begins with transparency, trust, and respect for your timepiece. The following policies are designed to ensure a smooth and secure experience while upholding the standards of craftsmanship and professionalism you deserve.
Warranty & Service Guarantee
We take great pride in the quality of our work. Once a repair estimate is approved, the price quoted is guaranteed—regardless of any unforeseen additional work or components required. There will be no surprise charges. Your trust is important to us, and we honor our estimates fully.
Every full service is backed by our two-year warranty, covering any mechanical failure, malfunction, or stoppage under normal usage. This warranty reflects our confidence in the quality of our workmanship and components.
Please note, the warranty does not cover issues resulting from:
Accidental impact or shock (e.g., dropping the watch).
Incorrect handling (e.g., using the quick-set date function between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, or over-winding).
Exposure to extreme temperatures or magnetic fields.
Water damage to non-water-resistant watches.
Water damage due to submersion of the watch without screwing down the crown (for watches with screw-down crowns)
Should the watch be opened/worked on by an outside third party repairer after we perform a repair, the warranty will be voided. No exceptions.
Pricing
Our service prices serve as a starting point from which we can set expectations. Timepieces will vary greatly in the level of care needed and component replacements required to maintain accuracy, reliability, longevity and aesthetics. Our price list includes the cost of repair. Should a major component need to be replaced, this component will be listed on the detailed estimate sent to you after our watchmaker completes the examination of your timepiece.
Lead Times
Each repair is handled with the utmost care and respect for the timepiece. Our general lead time for repairs is currently 4 - 6 weeks. Should your timepiece repair be completed sooner, we will promptly communicate this to you. During the busy seasons of the year, our lead times may increase, but compensated by the shorter lead times brought on by slower seasons. We will always inform you of the current lead time at the time of the estimate.
Vintage Repairs
Vintage watches require more time and care. These timepieces have been in operation for more than 50 years and thus have considerably more wear than a modern watch. We strive to maintain the level of performance that your watch was originally manufactured to achieve. This means that our watchmakers will spend more time during the estimate stage determining the precise level of service needed, component replacements needed, and restoration (when appropriate).
It is often the case that a vintage watch needs a spare part that is no longer made by the manufacturer and is not available for purchase from a third party seller. In these cases we will manufacture the new component to the proper tolerances to fit the movement. This process will add to the overall time spent on the repair. We will communicate to you whether such service is needed and the estimated lead time.
Once the estimate is completed by our watchmaker and approved by the client, a 50% deposit is required before we work. Once the repair and/or restoration is completed, we will issue an invoice with the remaining 50% balance.
Our vintage repair service is also backed by our 2-year limited warranty.
Should you have any questions about proper use or care, we are always available to guide you.
Estimate Approval Policy
We kindly request that clients respond to their service estimate within 30 days of receipt. Estimates not approved for more than 30 days will become invalid. We value our watchmaker’s time, and the effort they put into each thorough estimate. Should client refuse an estimate, we will charge an estimate refusal fee of $100 for modern watches and $200 for Vintage and complicated watches.
Following completion of the repair, payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date. After this period, customer will incur a vault fee of $100 per month starting immediately after the 30-day window to cover the secure storage and insurance of the timepiece.
Payment Terms
Our goal is to make the payment process as easy and convenient to you as possible. To this end, we accept card, wire transfer, Zelle®, and cash.
Upon receipt of your invoice, we require that the invoice be settled before the pick up of your timepiece. We remain flexible and offer the option of paying at the time of pick up.
Repairs Not Possible
While we can repair several brands of timepieces, some repairs cannot be handled by us and must go back to the manufacturer for service. Should this be the case with your timepiece, we will inform you and advise accordingly.
Abandoned Property
In the event that a timepiece has not been retrieved for more than 1-year despite repeated attempts to contact you, arrange for a pick up or shipment, we will begin the process to dispose of the property following the applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Expedited Services
Expedited service is available upon request and subject to approval by the watchmaker. This service is offered for timepieces that require immediate care and a fast turnaround. Our expedited service is reserved for modern timepieces. Vintage timepieces do not qualify for expedited service.
Expedited service, when approved, will guarantee 5-business days turnaround on your timepiece. This time does not include transit time during shipping.
Shipping & Insurance
Should client decide to ship their timepiece to our workshop, we ask that the client properly packs, insured and ships their timepieces. We offer instructions on how to securely pack and ship timepieces. Please do not hesitate to contact us, should you need assistance in performing this step.
For return shipments, we exclusively use our insured shipping services to ensure the safe and secure return of your watch.
Clients are responsible for the cost of these insured shipping labels. We will provide all necessary details and tracking once the service is complete and the invoice is settled.
If you have any questions regarding these policies, or if you would like personalized guidance through any part of the process, we welcome you to contact us directly. We are committed to offering you an experience as exceptional and precise as the timepieces we care for.
